Ava is coming home!

Ava is 4lbs 5ozs. They just took her feeding tub out and she is off oxygen now. They were planning on sending her home today but she hasn't been gaining weight. So the plan is tomorrow(Thursday) if she is gaining weight. She gained 5 grams last night. So we will see how today goes.
She is doing great with her bottles. She nursed on Sunday!
(seven Mins on each side) I was pretty excited.

The kids are excited to have there little sister home. Mike and I are excited to finally after 12 weeks of driving back and fourth to have our little girl home as well. Myself on the other hand is excited to get one more full night of sleep before she comes home. Ava will be on a monitor like Ethan, so that will be a blessing. It is loud and a pain, but it is a true comfort.
Ava is ready to come home as well. The nurses say she loves to be held now and hates her crib. The nurses say she has become part of the NICU family. Babies come and go and aren't there very long but Ava has been there for so long and the nurses have gotten to know her and love her. The nurses have been wonderful to our little girl. They have been more then just a nurse, but a friend to us as well. The nurses told us Ava is a amazing strong girl. We asked the nurses what is the smallest baby to have ever survived and it was 1.5 (24 weeks) They haven't had a small baby like Ava to have survived in a long time. So she is a amazing girl.
